The concept of YEO-BAEK(餘白) derives from fine arts, but this concept is extensively used in genre of arts in each category. Therefore, this study aims that establishment the concept of YEO-BAEK(餘白) as one of the general theory. Firstly, YEO-BAEK(餘白) is a creative principle which would reach to essential reason and boundary through overcome a common sensual world. Effects of YEO-BAEK(餘白) in modern poetry could be realized an omission and abridgement generally. Those are omission of syntactic sentence or social-historical background, and semantic implication mainly composed by a figure of speech. The omission and implication magnify and deepen a meaning of space between lines. But the essential effect of YEO-BAEK(餘白) is carrying a superficial emotion to conflicting emotional conditions or creating reversed imaginary. Such a role and function of YEO-BAEK(餘白) leave a limited sensibility of an expression about object open to a perception system extended copiously. YEO-BAEK(餘白) resists a nostalgia which desire unity and termination of works, and records segmented language and its differences on the logical vacuum. And YEO-BAEK(餘白) creates a space that the subject could meet the other by questioning a basis of the existence to the negation.
