이상의 「오감도」연작에 개진된 알레고리적 태도와 방법 연구

이상은 정념의 개입을 배제한 파토스의 영점에서 사태를 재구성하고자 열망했다. 그는 「오감도」연작을 통해 조화로운 총체성이라는 이념의 베일을 벗기고 세계가 균열과 파편들로 이루어져 있음을 증언했다. 사태를 영점에서 재구성하고 세계를 요소적으로 재편해서 재조립하고자 하는 태도와 방법은 벤야민 이후 재조명 받은 알레고리적 충동에 의해 가장 효과적으로 계량된다. 본고는 이상의 「오감도」연작의 성과와 한계를 바로 그런 맥락에서 살펴보는 것을 목표로 한다.
Abstract
This paper examines Yi Sang’s “Ogamdo” by terms of allegorical attitude and method. Yi Sang refused to accept the ready-made vision of modernity. He wanted to destruct the established world and rebuild the new world. He tried to find out how the advent modern world is consisted. So, he aspired to see through the modern world as we see through the objects using X-rays. This longing to see through the modern world, wish to destruct the established world and rebuild it in a different way can be renamed as an allegorical impulse. Walter Benjamin shed new light on this concept of allegory. Benjamin explained that allegory is not just one of literary rethorics. He argued that modern art retains the desire to overcome the existing contradictions of a society in an allegorical impulse. Yi Sang’s “Ogamdo” can be viewed by this meaning of allegorical attitude. By that, we can effectively explore Yi Sang’s longing to see through the modern ways of living and to rebuild a new vision in “Ogamdo”.
