한국어 관형절 교육 내용 연구 -담화·화용적 기능을 중심으로-

이 연구는 현재 한국어 관형절의 교육이 대체로 관형사형 어미의 형태와 시제, 상적인 의미, 수식 기능, 통사적 결합 제약 및 형태적 오류 방지에 치중되어 있는 점을 한계로 본다. 그리고 이를 해결하기 위해 학습자에게 관형절의 실제 사용을 설명할 수 있는, 담화·화용적 기능을 가르쳐야 한다고 주장한다. 이를 위해 선행 연구로부터 관형절의 담화·화용적 기능을 정리하여 체계화하고, 이를 바탕으로 한국어 학습자가 생성한 텍스트에 나타난 관형절과 한국인이 생성한 텍스트에 나타난 관형절의 사용 양상을 비교하였다. 학습자들의 관형절 사용은 한국인에 비해 양적으로 적을 뿐 아니라 기능 면에서도 단조롭게 나타나 관형절의 담화·화용적 기능 교육이 필요함을 드러냈다. 관형절의 담화·화용적 기능은 지시 차원에서 대상의 동일성 지시, 대상에 대한 정보 부가로 나타나고 맥락 차원에서 정황의 세부 묘사, 대상의 속성이나 이미지 환기, 대상에 대한 화자의 태도 반영으로 나타난다. 텍스트 차원에서는 대상의 도입, 조응, 의미적 응집, 화제성, 통합성, 체계적 관련성, 주제나 교훈 요약, 치환된 사건 정보 제공 등으로 나타난다. 초급에서는 관형절의 언어적 지식과 지시 기능을, 중급에서 관형절의 맥락적 의미 기능을 가르치고, 고급에서는 다양한 텍스트 구성적인 기능을 연습하는 방안을 제안한다.
Abstract
In this study, Korean adnominal clause education has limits that mostly focus on the forms and their tenses and aspects, modification, the syntactic binding constraint and the morphological error prevention. To solve this, I argue that the pragmatic functions of adnominal clause in discourse should be taught so that the learners can understand the actual use of them. The pragmatic functions of Korean adnominal clause are as follows: In the referential dimension, the identity of the object, the information about the object; and in the contextual dimension, the description of the situation, the object's properties or images, and the speaker's attitude; in the text level, introduction of object, anaphora, semantic cohesion, topicality, continuity, systematic relation, summary of topic or lesson, information of substitute event. At the beginner’s level, the linguistic knowledge and referential functions of adnominal clause are to be provided. In the intermediate level, the functions in the contextual dimension, introduction of object and anaphora are to be taught. Lastly in the advanced level, all the functions should be exercised.
