본 연구의 목적은 2015 개정 국어과 교육과정에 기반한 <언어와 매체> 5종 교과서를 대상으로 하여 미디어 리터러시 교육의 차원에서 뉴스 리터러시와 관련한 학습 활동을 매체의 본질, 매체의 수용, 매체의 생산의 측면에서 분석하고 이를 토대로 국어 교육 내의 뉴스 리터러시 교육의 개선 방안을 모색하는 데 있다. <언어와 매체> 5종 교과서를 분석한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 뉴스 매체의 본질에 관한 학습 활동은 메시지 구성 방식의 측면과 복합 양식성의 구현에 집중되어 있었다. 둘째, 뉴스 리터러시의 비판적 수용 활동이 5종 교과서에서 모두 구현된 반면, 뉴스 생산 활동은 단 2종에서만 구현되어 뉴스의 비판적 수용에 학습 활동이 집중되어 있었다. 셋째, 뉴스 생태계와 생산 맥락을 충실히 이해하며 뉴스를 비판적으로 수용하고 생산하는 활동이 충실히 구현되지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 이에 뉴스 리터러시 관련 성취기준의 설정과 체계화를 통해 교육 내용과 교수 학습의 방향을 체계화하고 교육 내용을 개선하는 방안 등이 모색될 필요가 있다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to study the learning activities related to news literacy from the perspective of media literacy education by targeting the five textbooks of <Language and Media> based on the 2015 revised Korean language curriculum, the nature of the medium, the acceptance of the medium, and the production of the medium. The purpose of this study is to analyze the aspect and to find ways to improve news literacy education in Korean language education based on this. <Language and Media> The results of analyzing five textbooks are as follows. First, the learning activities on the nature of news media were focused on the aspect of message composition and the implementation of complex modalities. Second, the critical acceptance activity of news literacy was implemented in all five textbooks, whereas the news production activity was implemented in only two types, so that learning activities were concentrated on critical acceptance of news. Third, it was found that the activities of critically accepting and producing news while faithfully understanding the news ecosystem and production context were not faithfully implemented. Accordingly, it is necessary to find ways to systematize the educational content and the direction of teaching and learning, and to improve the educational content through the establishment and systematization of achievement standards related to news literacy.
