이 연구는 초등학교 4학년 아동들이 드라마 만들기를 통해 생활 속에서 체험한 삶의 문제들을 도덕적 의미로 형성해가는 경험을 탐구하였다. 먼저 학생들은 교실을 비롯해 생활 속에서 일어나는 삶의 경험들을 매주 1회씩 4개월 간 모둠별 이야기로 만들었으며, 그 이야기들에 대해 아동-아동 간(모둠별), 교사-아동 간 피드백을 지속적으로 공유하였다. 다음으로 아동들은 그 이야기들 중에서 가장 의미 있다고 생각하는 사건을 모둠별로 대화․선정하여 드라마 대본으로 완성하였다. 마지막으로 아동들은 모둠별로 만든 드라마 대본을 함께 연습하고, 가족들과 지역학교 교사들을 초청하여 드라마 공연을 실시하였다. 연구의 결과는 아동들이 드라마를 통해 각자의 삶의 문제들을 대화적 언어로 의미화 하면서 도덕적 공동체를 형성해간다는 것을 보여주었다. 또한 도덕교육에서의 드라마 활동은 대화적 공동체의 의미를 실존적으로 생성하고 살아내게 돕는 중요한 교육 방법임을 보여주었다.
Abstract
This case study inquired into 4th grade elementary children's experiences of shaping moral community with educational drama while telling and living their lived experiences. First, children continued to make their life experiences shared in small group format into stories accumulatively for 4 months. In the meantime, they shared feedback with one another on the works they had done. The homeroom teacher also gave supportive feedback. Second, they were required to choose one story most meaningful to them among the stories they had written so far and made it into a drama text. Third, they practiced it for four weeks and performed it to the audiences including their parents. The results of the study show that educational drama provides them with a good space enabling children to tell and live their life experiences dialogically and to build a moral community. Besides, this study shows that educational drama in moral education is an important educational method enabling children to construct dialogical meaning-making existentially.
