본 연구의 목적은 2009개정 초등 도덕과 교육과정 내용 분석을 통하여 초등 도덕과에 긍정심리학의 성격 강점과 덕목의 활용 가능성을 탐색하는 것이다. 연구 결과, 교육과정 내용은 학구열과 창의성을 제외한 22가지 성격강점과 관련이 있고, 이는 교육과정 내용을 구체화하여 현장에서 가르칠 때 긍정심리학의 성격강점 연구 성과를 활용한 도덕과 교육이 가능함을 의미한다. 역사와 문화를 초월한 공통적이고 객관적인, 인간의 삶을 행복하고 풍요롭게 하는 긍정적인 인격 특질인 성격 강점과 덕목을 도덕과 교육에 활용하는 것은 도덕과 교육의 과학화 및 활성화에 도움을 줄 것이다. 또한, 타인과 사회를 위해 봉사하고 기여하는 삶을 살 수 있도록 함으로써 학생들의 행복 증진에 실질적 도움을 주는 핵심교과로서의 역할을 할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to explore the applicability of ‘character strengths and virtues’ in positive psychology to elementary school moral education by analysing the 2009 curriculum of clementary school moral education . The result of the study is that the contents of the curriculum are related to the 22 character strengths except the love of learning and the creativity. That means it's possible to teach the moral education by using the result about the character strength based on the positive psychology when this curriculum is brought into shape and is used at school. The character strengths and virtues which are the universal and objective traits enriching the human lives beyond the history and culture will be helpful for the scientific approach and vitalization in moral education. Also the curriculum of moral education can do the role of a core curriculum promoting students' happiness by making students do their lives for others and society.
