1960년대 이후 고도의 경제성장을 추구해온 일본은, 21세기 새로운 지식기반사회의 도래를 앞두고 청소년범죄의 흉폭화, 은둔형 외톨이․감정을 조절하지 못하는 아이의 증가, 규범의식의 약화 등, 청소년의 도덕문제와 사회전반의 도덕적 해이라고 하는 심각한 사회현실에 직면해 있다. 2008년 결국 무산되었지만, ‘도덕교육 교과화’의 요구는 이러한 사회현실을 반영한 것이라 할 수 있을 것이다. 그러나 마찬가지로 1960년대 이후 고도의 경제성장을 추구해 왔으며, 오늘날 동일한 사회현실에 직면해 있는 한국은 '도덕교육 무용론‘이나 영어교육열풍이 보여주듯이 오히려 도덕교육에 회의적 태도를 보이고 있다. 이 글은 동일한 사회현실에 직면해 있으면서도 도덕교육에 있어서는 서로 다른 행보를 보여주고 있는 한국과 일본의 도덕교육을 비교 ․검토함으로써 우리의 도덕교육을 반성적으로 고찰함과 동시에 그 방향을 모색하여 보고자 한 것이다.
Abstract
As Japan has gone through economic growth since 1960, Japan has been faced serious social problems which are called moral problems and hazard likewise getting increased and riotous of youth crimes, the appearance of Hikikomori(unsociable student) and children who can't control their emotion, the decline of norm consciousness. Though the requirement for making moral education as a corse was dissipated in 2008, it can be considered as a reflection of these social realities. Although Korea also has gone through economic growth since 1960 and faced on similar social realities, moral education in Korea has been weakening opposit of the opinion about the useless of moral education and the craze for English education. The goal of this thesis is to fine the way and have an opportunity for reconsideration about our moral education by comparing and investigating both Korean and Japanese moral education.
