오늘날 급속하게 진행되어 가는 글로벌 사회의 추세 와 함께 우리나라는 현재 다문화 사회로 진행되어 가고 있다. 이러한 흐름 속에서 현재 초․중등학교의 교실에는 다문화 가정의 학생들이 적지 않게 공부하고 있다. 우리 사회의 다문화 진전 속도를 볼 때 학교에서의 다문화 도덕교육은 도덕 교과서 내의 한 두 단원 속에서 부분적으로 가르치기에는 부족한 감이 많다. 이제 우리의 학교 다문화 도덕교육은 학교에서 독립된 교과의 차원에서 교육과정과 교과서를 만들어서 가르칠 필요가 있다. 이에 본 연구는 초등학교의 다문화 도덕과 교육과정을 개발할 때 고려해야 할 중요한 원리들과 논쟁점들을 고찰하였다. 이에 따라 본 연구는 도덕 교과의 교육과정 구성 요소를 목표, 내용, 방법, 평가의 네 가지로 확인하고, 이 중에서 가장 중요한 요소로서 다문화 도덕과의 목표 설정과 내용 구성에 대해서 심도 있게 논의하였다.
Abstract
With the broad movement of population as a phenomenon of globalization, our nation is in progress toward the multicultural society. The need of multicultural moral education in schools becomes higher in the flow of this social change. Besides, a few units of multiculture in the textbook of moral education is not enough for the teaching about the increasing multicultural problems which are occurred to the students from the multicultural family. In the light of this situation of our school and society, this study performed a basic study for the development of curriculum and textbook for multicultural moral education in elementary schools. For this study, first of all, this study confirmed four elements of curriculum construction, that is, educational objective, educational content, educational method and educational evaluation. Especially, this study focused on educational objective and educational content which are the core of curriculum. In addition, this study discussed the issues on multicultural moral education based on the peculiarity of our multicultural society.
