Abstract
This study examines the background of introduction of neuroscience to moral education, and shows that the philosophical paradigm behind the neuroscience consists of physicalism and reductionism, proposing an argument that establishes the reason why a theoretical quarantine is necessary. It also examines the limitations and problems of the attempts to derive a normative conclusion from neurological facts, and examines the outline and limitations of ‘neuromoral education’ theory, and explores the ‘neurononsenses’ and conceptual errors of neuromoral education. Through this discussion, this study aims to stress that we should not hand over the essential task of moral education, that is teaching proper meanings of morality, to neuroscience.
