Abstract
This study concerns the philosophical theories about the sociomoral construction of self, and attempts to connect these theories with the moral psychology and neuroscience as to support it. A sociomoral approach to self is not only a philosophy with heuristic values. And It has a certain role as standard hypothesis leading to the normative development patterns. It is examined the philosophical reflections of G. H. Mead and C. Taylor to negate the concepts of the substantive self and then investigated empirical explorations about socio-moral constructs of the self to assert that these theories have a validity. It dealt with the studies on adolescents of moral development psychology by Keller et al. and of neuroscience by Pfeifer et al.. These studies show that the self is constructed sociomoral interactions and has characteristics of developmental process based cultures. The results of the study not only prove potentially the social constructs of the self, but also help us understand human conducts and modes.
