Abstract
This paper aims to analyze the requirements for the beauty of an act in Aristotle's ethics and to clarify the relationship between ethical beauty and aesthetic beauty. This paper reveals that the beauty of an act has the following characteristics. First, the beauty of an act (to kalon) contains universal content referring to acts and people that form a moral order according to the tradition that has been passed down from Homer in ancient Greece. Second, the beauty of an act is a concept that cannot be separated from aesthetic beauty. In Aristotle's ethics, aesthetic beauty is the numerical order of the world that the Pythagorean school advocated, revealed as harmony and balance in ethical acts, and recognized by humans as beautiful acts. It is hoped that this discussion will serve as an alternative answer to theories that criticize the relativistic possibility of virtue ethics surrounding Aristotle's ethics.
