아리스토텔레스는 도덕적 상황에서 도덕적인 사람의 행동을 탁월성의 양상이라고 주장했다. 본 연구는 도덕적 지식으로서 탁월성이 지니는 성질을 파악하는 데 그 목적이 있다. 탁월성은 인간의 영혼 상태 중 칭찬 받을 만한 것으로서 영혼이라는 개념과 연관성이 있고, 영혼은 인간의 형상으로서 형상이라는 개념과 연관성이 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 형상의 의미와 그 작용 양상을 심도 있게 이해하여 영혼의 특징과 그 양상을 분석하고, 형상과 영혼에 대한 이해를 바탕으로 탁월성의 의미와 그 성질을 규명하고자 한다. 이를 통해 탁월성이 왜 맥락-지향적인 성격을 지니게 되었는지, 그리고 탁월성은 도덕적 지식으로서 어떤 성질을 지니고 있는지를 밝히고자 한다.
Abstract
Aristotle argued that moral behavior in moral situations is an aspect of Excellence. The purpose of this study is to understand the characteristics of Excellence as moral knowledge. Excellence is something that deserves praise among the human Soul states and is related to the concept of Soul, and the Soul is related to the concept of Form as a human Form. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the characteristics and aspects of the Soul by understanding the meaning and operation of the Form in depth, and to identify the meaning and nature of Excellence based on the understanding of the Form and Soul. Through this, it is intended to reveal why Excellence has a context-oriented character and what characteristics Excellence has as moral knowledge.
