사이버대학에서의 강의평가와 학업성취에 관한 사례연구

본 연구는 사이버대학에서 교과목에 따라 강의평가의 결과가 어떠한 차이를 보이는 지 밝히고, 강의평가를 학생 자신의 학습충실도, 교수 및 강의운영 충실도, 시험 및 과제에 대한 견해, 강의 컨텐츠에 대한 견해, 그리고 운영시스템에 대한 견해로 구분하여 강의평가가 학업성취에 미치는 영향을 살펴보았다. 본 연구는 서울 소재 사이버대학에서 2004년 1학기에 실시된 112개 과목, 10,939명 학생의 강의평가와 성적을 분석하였으며, 독립변인으로 교과목을 전공분야, 이수구분, 수강인원에 따라 구분하고 강의평가의 하위 구성요인을 종속변인으로 하여 다변량분석과 사후검증을 실시하였다. 그리고 강의평가와 학업성취간의 상관관계를 분석하였으며, 독립변인인 강의평가의 하위 구성요인이 종속변인인 성적에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위해 다중회귀분석을 실시하였다. 본 연구를 수행한 결과에 따르면, 강의평가는 교과목에 따라 유의미한 차이가 있어 인문사회 교과목의 강의평가가 예체능 교과목보다 높았고, 필수 과목이 선택 과목보다, 그리고 50명 이상의 수업이 50명 이하의 수업보다 강의평가가 높게 나타났다. 또한 강의평가는 성적과 높은 상관을 보였고, 강의평가 점수는 성적에 큰 영향을 미쳤는데, 특히 학생자신의 학습충실도가 성적에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 것으로 분석되었다. 따라서 사이버대학에서 지속적이고도 정확한 강의평가는 성적과 밀접한 상관관계를 가지고 영향을 미치므로 교수학습에 대한 피드백의 일환으로 적극 활용할 것과 동시에, 일반 오프라인 대학과는 다른 양상을 보인 강의평가의 원인을 규명하고 각 교과목에 적합한 교수학습전략을 개발할 것을 제언하는 바이다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to examine how the results of students' course evaluation make a difference by the subject matters in the cyber university. Also we investigated how students' course evaluation has an effect on student learning achievement. 10,939 students and 112 subject matters of cyber university were analyzed to perform the study. One of the studies was to differ from the results of students' course evaluation according to the subject matter, so classification of subject matter has a independent variable, and a dependent variable was student's course evaluation, and then MANOVA and Scheffe post hoc test were applied to analyze the data. The other of the studies was to impact the students' course evaluation on student learning achievement, so sub-dimension of students' course evaluation has a independent variable, and a dependent variable was student's grade, and then multiple regression analysis was applied to analyze the data. The study questions of this study were as follows: First, do the results of students' course evaluation differ from the subject matter? Second, does the students' course evaluation impact on student learning achievement according to the subject matter? The major findings were as follows: First, the students' course evaluation made a significant difference by the subject matter. Thus subjects of human society were the highest score of students' course evaluation. And required subjects were higher score of students' course evaluation than optional subjects, and then class size less than 50 peoples was the lowest score of one. Second, the students' course evaluation had a high effect on student learning achievement. Especially, the students' fidelity to learning was remarkably influenced by the students' course evaluation on learning achievement.
