교육대학생들은 「교육공학」수업을 통해 무엇을 배우는가?

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the reality of instruction on educational technology (ET). For that purpose 35 college students, who were participating in a lesson of ET in pre-service teacher training program, were interviewed three times during one semester. They were also asked to submit reflection reports for each lesson. I had three research questions for this study. 1) In what context do pre-service teachers they learn the subject of ET? 2) What are the pre-service teachers' images on the subject of ET? 3) What are the changes of pre-service teachers after completion the course of ET? The results of this research were as followings. The participants wanted to be effective elementary school teachers. In order to be the teacher they have to pass to a test for would-be teachers. Therefore they concern about preparing the test. They showed the interest in classroom teaching of elementary schools. They were however preoccupied with incorrect ideas about ET. Pre-service teachers have the images on the subject of ET as follows. 1) They think that the subject of ET is the subject of dealing with instructional reality. 2) They think that the subject of ET is helpful to build their own teaching skills. 3) They think that the textbook is thick and full of foreign contents. There are three changes at the end of the lesson. 1) The students have shown the deep understanding about classroom instruction of elementary school. 2) They realized that it is a teacher's ability that make a difference in accomplishment of a lesson goal to choose an optimum media in a lesson. 3) They have also been fostered their teaching philosophy. From the interview the participants suggested me four valuable suggestions. They are 1) to revise contents for the textbook in terms of realistic context, 2) to let the students have opportunities for hand-on experience, 3) to interview students of the class, and 4) to teach what they are supposed to learn from the ET lecture.
