국내 교육공학 질적 연구 동향 분석

초록

본 연구의 목적은 국내 교육공학 분야의 질적 연구의 동향을 분석하여 교육공학 질적 연구의 현주소와 향후의 방향을 모색하는 것이다. 이를 위해『교육공학연구』와『교육정보미디어연구』학술지의 창간호인 1985년과 1996년부터 2017년 6월까지 게재된 질적 논문 134편을 대상으로 연구 주제, 연구 유형, 연구방법론 측면에서 연구적 동향을 살펴보았다. 연구 결과, 국내 교육공학 질적 연구는 2000년 이후 점차적으로 증가하였음을 알 수 있었다. 질적 연구의 주제는 활용 영역이 가장 많았고, 다음으로는 창출 영역의 교수설계 효과 연구로 드러났다. 연구방법 측면에서는 사례연구와 기본해석연구가 비슷한 수준에서 높게 나타났다. 하지만 기본해석연구라고도 볼 수 있는 개발연구가 다수 나타나 교육공학연구의 고유한 특징을 보여준다. 자료수집과 분석 측면에서 교육공학 질적 연구는 개별 면담과 내용분석을 가장 많이 활용하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 교육공학연구의 질적 연구는 2～4개의 자료수집방법을 함께 활용하여 자료의 삼각검증을 추구하고 있다. 마지막으로 신뢰성 확보 및 윤리 준수에 노력하고 있으나 자료분석 단위, 신뢰성 전략, 연구윤리가 언급되지 않은 경우가 다수 나타났다. 연구 결과에 기초하여 교육공학 질적 연구의 특징과 향후 다양한 방법론 및 엄격한 질적 연구 수행을 위한 제언을 하였다.

Abstract

The purpose of the study is to explore the current status and future direction of qualitative research of educational technology in Korea. For this purpose, 134 qualitative research articles of Journal of Educational Technology and Journal of Education Information and Media from the first to June 2017 issues were analyzed in terms of research topic, type of qualitative research, and methodology. In result, it was found that qualitative research of educational technology in Korea has gradually increased since 2000. The most frequent topic of qualitative research is related to the utilization area, followed by the creation area. The frequent types of qualitative research are case study and basic qualitative research. Development research is the unique type of qualitative research of educational technology due to many instructional design research cases. The most frequently used data collection method is in-depth interview, and the analysis method is content analysis. Also, it was found that 2-4 different types of data were collected together for the purpose of triangulation. Although educational technology researchers make efforts for trustworthiness of research, some descriptions such as the unit of analysis, trustworthiness strategies, and ethics need to be included in the method part. Based on the results, the characteristics of qualitative research of educational technology in Korea are addressed, and some suggestions on various qualitative methodologies and rigorous research are described.
