일본의 학습지도요령을 통해 본 중학교 사회과 지리의 동향

본 연구는 현재 일본의 중학교에서 실시되고 있는 사회과 지리의 동향을 교육과정을 통해 파악한 것이다. 연구 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 중학교 사회과의 요점은 기초적인 지식, 개념, 기능의 습득, 사고력·판단력·표현력을 육성하는 언어활동의 충실, 전통과 문화의 존중이다. 둘째, 지리 영역의 주요 포인트는 세계에 관한 지리적 인식, 동태지지적 학습에 의한 국토인식의 충실, 지리적 기능 육성, 사회참가 관점의 도입 등이다. 셋째, 내용상의 특징은 세계의 지리적 인식과 일본의 국토인식에 중점을 두었으며, 공민적 자질 육성을 위해 지역사회의 조사에 사회참가의 시점을 도입하였다. 이들은 지식기반사회의 진전에 따라 일본인으로서 주체적으로 살아가는 능력을 육성하기 위한 것이다.
Abstract
This study aims to explore the current trend of Japanese middle geographic section in social studies curriculum. The findings of this study are as follows. First, the focuses of the middle social studies include the basic knowledge, concepts, acquisition of skills, language abilities of enhancing thinking, and respect for tradition and culture. Second, the main focuses of the geographic section are decision-making, expression, understanding of national land via dynamic geographic learning, enhancement of geographic skills, introduction of social participation perspectives, etc. Third, the features of contents present understandings of world and Japanese geography and introduce social participation perspectives in order to enhance civic consciousness. That aims to promote the independent life skills of Japanese with the approach of knowledge society .
