본 연구의 목적은 수정된 일본 중학교 지리교과서의 학습내용-활동을 사례중심으로 살펴보는 것이다. 2006년 4월 신학기 채택을 앞두고 심의중인 6종 교과서의 학습내용-활동을 종합적으로 검토한 결과, 교과목표와 관련하여 다음과 같은 네 가지 특징을 확인할 수 있다. 첫째, 학습자 활동중심, 제시된 자료에 근거한 본문 기술, 하늘에서 내려본 지역모습, 심화학습 안내를 통해 지리에 대한 관심을 제고한다. 둘째, 다양한 관점, 세계규모의 지역조사, 지역연계 학습을 통해 지역을 세계적, 다면적·다각적으로 이해한다. 셋째, 주제별 지역학습, 지구탐험, 주변지역학습 활동을 통해 지리적 관점과 지리적 사고방식을 습득한다. 넷째, 영역인식을 강조하여 국토에 대한 인식을 심화시킨다.
Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to examine the learning content and activity of geography textbooks in Japanese middle school with cases. For this, we reviewed the revised edition of the geography textbooks and found some characteristics related to the subject objectives. Firstly, there are learner centered activities, text description based on the provided materials, a bird?s-eye view, and an advanced learning information which is set up promote the learners? interest in geography. Secondly, there are various perspectives, a regional survey of world scale, regional linkage in order to understand regions with the globe, many-sided and multilateral views. Thirdly, there are regional learning with themes, earth expeditions, and neighborhood learning activities in order to attain a geographical view and approach. Fourthly, there is growing recognition that learners should strengthen the perception of their country.
