소통의 관점에서 본 종교와 정치-기독교 개신교의 정치적 소통구조 연구-

신앙적 신조의 관점에서 이루어진 정치적 입장을 정치 영역에서 표명하는 것은 오랫동안 금기시 되어 왔다. 자유주의적 신념에 바탕을 둔 이러한 생각에 대해 샌델은 실질적으로 신앙에 바탕을 둔 구체적인 정치 실천이 현실 속에서 다양한 방식으로, 그리고 그것도 부정적인 방식으로 이루어져 왔다고 주장하면서 오히려 종교적 정체성을 표방하는 정치실천의 중요성을 강조했다. 이 논문은 종교를 표방한 정치참여의 특성을 소통모델분석 방법을 통해 점검하는데 목적을 둔다. 그리고 이 분석을 통해 종교적 정체성을 표방하면서도 바람직한 정치참여의 모델이 무엇인지를 찾아보려 한다. 종교는 다양하며 다양한 종교는 서로 다른 소통의 구조를 가질 수 있으므로, 이 논문은 기독교, 특히 개신교에 집중하여 분석한다. 정치의 본질을 다루는 차원에서 우선 “정치적인 것(the political)”의 개념을 검토하고 또한 종교 내부의 차원과 종교 외부 차원을 구분하여 그 정치적 특성을 점검한다. 이를 바탕으로 이 논문은 다양한 정치 구조에서의 소통의 모델을 이 논문의 목적에 제한하여 11개의 모델을 분석하였고, 논의의 필요에 따라 조선시대의 공론정치에서 발생하는 소통 관계를 6개의 모델로 분석하였으며, 종교적 차원에서의 소통을 6개의 모델로 분석하였다. 이상과 같은 모델 분석을 바탕으로 종교적 신념을 바탕으로 한 정치참여의 성격을 3모델로 분석한 다음 바람직한 모델을 결론적으로 제시하였다.
Abstract
Based on a liberalistic political conviction, it has been tabooed for religious groups to participate in political arenas while basing their religious faiths. Michael Sandel, however, argues that so many political practices have been performed based on religious faith and mostly in a negative way. Thus, he proposes the importance of religious groups' participation on the basis of their religious convictions. This article, in this context of discourse, focuses on an analysis of communication models of political participation of religious groups with a goal to find an acceptable model. There are, however, many different religions, and thus there should also be many different communication models for them. This article will focus on Protestant's model. After suggesting Hannah Arendt's concept of the political and examining of the inside and the outward political practices of religious churches, this article suggests 11 models of political communication, 6 models of the public discourse of Yi dynasty, and another 6 models of religious communication. Based on these analyses, this article gives 3 communication models of the political participation of religious identity groups. As a conclusion an acceptable communication model for religious political participation is suggested.
