일제말 중국체류 조선인의 연극/영화 활동 연구(1)-상해를 중심으로

Abstract

This paper offers a review of drama/cinema activities done by Koreans staying in China during the Japanese colonial period. They mainly stayed in Shanghai(上海) and Yenan(延安) area, and this paper is focused on the activities of those who stayed in Shanghai in the 1930s. They were Gitag Chung, Changgeun Chun, Kyungson Lee, and Yum Kim. These artists had wide range of careers. They were divided into the left and right and the north and south, and their careers expanded out of homeland to China. Gitag Chung, Changgeun Chun, Kyungson Lee, and Yum Kim wrote a chapter of drama/cinema history in Shanghai in the late 1920s and the early 1930s. Their activities should be appraised not only as careers of Korean artists in China, but also as bitter struggles to overcome harsh realities of Japanese occupation. This approach will lead to future researches that should shed light on lost and forgotten pieces of our history during the Japanese colonial period.
