연구 목적: 본 연구는 언어재활 전공 성인학습자의 학습 참여 동기, 학습상의 장애요인과 이러한 변수들이 학업만족도와 대학생활 적응 정도에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 하였다. 연구 방법: 평생교육단과대학 언어재활 전공 성인학습자 54명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며 기술통계와 상관관계분석, 그리고 다중회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구 내용: 첫째, 외재적 동기와 학업만족도 간의 유의한 정적 상관관계가 나타났다. 반면, 구조적 장애요인과 성향적 장애요인은 각각 학업만족도와 대학생활 적응 정도와 유의한 부적 상관관계가 나타났다. 둘째, 학습 참여 동기는 학업만족도와 대학생활 적응 정도에 유의한 영향을 미치지 않았다. 마지막으로, 학습상의 장애요인은 학업만족도와 대학생활 적응 정도에 유의한 영향을 미쳤다. 구체적으로, 구조적 장애요인과 성향적 장애요인이 학업만족도와 대학생활 적응 정도에 각각 유의한 영향을 미쳤다. 결론 및 제언: 전반적인 교육환경 개선을 통한 학습상의 장애요인 제고는 성인학습자의 평생교육기관으로 대학의 역할 확대 및 체제 개편에 있어 매우 중요하다고 할 것이다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine motivations and perceived barriers to learning and the effects of those factors on academic satisfaction and college life adaptation for adult learners majoring in speech-language rehabilitation. A total of 54 adult learners who currently enrolled in the college of lifelong education participated in this study and data collected through online survey were analyzed by the statistical methods (i.e. descriptive analysis, correlation test, multiple regression analysis). The results of this study were as follows: 1) Significant positive correlation was found between external motivation and academic satisfaction. However, significant negative correlations were found between structural and dispositional obstacles and academic satisfaction, and between structural and dispositional obstacles and college life adaptation. 2) Motivations to participate in lifelong learning have not a significant effect on academic satisfaction and college life adaptation. 3) Perceived barriers to their studies have a significant effect on academic satisfaction and college life adaption. Specifically, it was found that structural and dispositional obstacles had significant effects on academic satisfaction and college life adaptation. In conclusion, it should be important to expand the role of universities as a lifelong educational institution for adult learners through the reduction of learning obstacles and the improvement of the overall educational environment for them.
