연구 목적: 본 연구는 언어재활 전공 성인학습자들의 좀 더 구체적이고 개별적인 대학생활의 경험과 이와 관련된 인식, 느낌, 태도를 파악하기 위한 목적으로 진행되었다. 연구 방법: 언어재활 전공 성인학습자 6명을 대상으로 심층면담을 실시하였으며, 질적 분석의 일환으로 계속적 비교법을 이용하여 면담 내용을 분석하였다. 연구 내용: 언어재활 전공 성인학습자들의 대학생활에 대한 경험과 관련 인식, 느낌, 태도를 알아보았다. 결론 및 제언: 전반적으로 전공에 대한 만족감과 보람을 느끼고 있었다. 일과 학업을 병행하는 상황에서도 높은 학업 동기와 자기 주도성을 가지고 비교적 균형적인 대학생활을 하고 있었다. 하지만 여러 학습상의 장애요인으로 실제 대학생활 적응에는 상당한 어려움을 경험하고 있었다. 또한 성인학습자 맞춤형 교육 및 학사 운영을 위한 학교의 전폭적인 지원을 요구하고 있었다. 본 연구결과를 바탕으로 언어재활 분야 전공 성인학습자의 학습 특성이나 경험을 심층적으로 이해하여 보다 적합하고 필요한 지원을 위한 기초자료가 제공되길 희망해 본다.
Abstract
This study was conducted to understand the more specific and individual experiences of college life and the related perceptions, feelings, and attitudes of adult learners majoring in speech-language rehabilitation. Six participants were interviewed and verbatim interview transcripts were analyzed using constant comparative method of qualitative analysis. Results showed that the adult learners generally felt satisfaction and a sense of reward towards their academic major. They also had a balanced college life with high academic motivation and self-directed learning, even while juggling work and academics. However, they experienced significant difficulties adapting to college life due to various learning barriers. They also demanded comprehensive support from the university for education and academic operations tailored to adult learners. Hopefully, deeply understanding the experiences and learning characteristics of adult learners majoring in speech-language rehabilitation can provide additional information for offering appropriate and necessary support for them.
