연구 목적: 이 연구의 목적은 중등 영어 교육 내 페미니즘 문학작품 활용의 방향성을 고찰하고 수업 모형을 개발하는 데 있다. 연구 방법: 조애나 러스의 과학소설 「그것이 변했을 때」를 페미니즘적 문제의식으로 분석하였고 영어교과수업 모형 즉, 도입, 전개, 활동 및 정리의 4단계로 개발하여 실제 수업에 활용할 수 있도록 하였다. 연구 내용: 과학소설을 활용하여 페미니즘 교육이 단순히 이론과 개념의 이해에만 머무는 게 아닌 텍스트 이면에 감춰진 가부장제 이데올로기와 고정된 젠더 역할의 규범과 한계를 사유하고 비판할 수 있는 수업 분석 모형을 제시하였다. 결론 및 제언: 문학교육은 현실사회의 문제점을 다룸으로써 성찰과 사유를 가능하게 하는 방법이다. 본 수업 모형은 실제 교과서에서는 배울 수 없는 영어 교육적 가치를 지니며 비평적 사고와 관점을 확장할 기회가 될 것이다. 특히 과학소설을 활용한 페미니즘 교육은 상상력을 통해 고정된 성역할에 대한 문제의식과 사회, 문화, 제도적 범주에서 차별과 억압에 대한 인식을 새롭게 깨닫는 시간이 될 것이다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to examine the direction of the use of feminist literary works in secondary English education and to develop a models of instruction. The science fiction “When It Changed” was analyzed with a feminist criticism, and the four stages of the English teaching model, that is, the introductory stage, the development stage, the active stage, and the organizing stage, were developed so that they could be used in actual classes. Using science fiction, we presented a models of instruction that could think and criticize the norms and limitations of patriarchal ideology and fixed gender roles hidden behind the text, not just understanding theories and concepts. Literature education is a way to enable reflection and thinking by dealing with real-world problems. This models of instruction will be an opportunity to expand critical thinking and perspectives with English educational values that cannot be learned in textbooks, and will be an opportunity to expand critical thinking and perspectives. In particular, feminism education using science fiction will be a time to realize a new awareness of discrimination and oppression in the social, cultural, and institutional categories as well as critical awareness of fixed gender roles.
