연구 목적: 이 연구의 목적은 MZ세대의 다문화 수용성 정도를 알아보는 데에 있다. 연구 방법: 국민 다문화 수용성 진단 도구(KMCI)를 이용해 MZ세대 97명을 대상으로 설문한 후 그 결과를 SPSS/WIN 통계프로그램 22.0을 활용하였으며 분석하였다. 연구 내용: MZ세대의 일반적인 사항(성별, 세대, 학력, 종교, 경제 수준) 중에서 성별과 학력이 다문화 수용성과 유의한 관련성을 보였으며 다문화 경험은 다문화 수용성 지수와 유의한 관련성을 보였는데, 다문화 경험 중 특히 이주민과의 접촉 경험과 다문화 이해 교육 경험이 큰 상관관계를 보이는 것으로 분석되었다. 결론 및 제언: 이러한 결과로 볼 때, MZ세대의 다문화 수용성을 높이기 위해서는 이주민과의 직접적인 접촉 경험을 늘릴 필요가 있으며 다문화 이해 교육이 필수적이라는 것을 알 수 있다.
Abstract
The MZ generation will play a pivotal role in society as South Korea enters a more multicultural phase. Using the Korean Multicultural Acceptance diagnostic tool (KMCI) to survey 97 Generation MZers, this study investigated the degree of multicultural acceptance of the MZ generation through a statistical analysis of the survey’s results. Among the general characteristics of the MZ generation looked at in the study, including gender, generation, educational background, religion, and economic level, gender and educational background had a significant correlation to multicultural acceptance. In addition, multicultural experiences had a statistically significant correlation to the multicultural acceptance index, and among the multicultural experiences, direct contact with migrants and multicultural understanding education had the greatest correlation. The results of this study clearly show that in order to increase the multicultural acceptance of the MZ generation, it is essential to increase their opportunities to have direct contact with migrants and to receive multicultural understanding education.
