『오만과 몽상』에 나타난 식민지 역사의 자기인식과 아비투스

Abstract

This study discusses the narrative meaning, from the habitus perspective, of ‘Youth’ characters in the Pride and Dream. The characters taking colonial history as a basis of self-awareness experience ‘Poverty’ and confront. And the way of conflicts between young generation, who tried to establish the ethicality operating to historical value judgement as the cultural capital, has not been noticed in the semantic network of ‘youth’ in the 1970s. Through comparing and analyzing the two main characters, who self-consciously summon the Habitus created by their economic class existence, it takes a look why, in class reproduction of the 1970s, the historical and cultural capital intervene in recognition structure or not was signified through ‘Poverty’. The Pride and Dream shows that the ethics of the ‘youth’ in the 1970s, who have to think and reconstruct their cultural capital as an ethical issue of ‘poverty and wealth’, is the same track with recovering process of the ethical values lost during the modernization process of South Korean society. And it reemerges the ethics of virtue.  This study aimed to reveal why Park Wan-seo’s literature search for the Habitus - it is to reconstruct the subject’s attitude toward ‘poverty’ as an ethical recognition structure. It is meaningful to trace that point through the narrative genealogy of Pride and Dream.
