Abstract
This study looked into the implementation of the 7th Korean national science curriculum at the secondary school science classrooms in terms of objectives, contents, methods and evaluation of school science. Nationwide survey for science teachers were conducted along with classroom observations and teacher interviews. It was found that science teachers generally were reconstructing contents giving the priority to the needs of learners. In most schools observed, science teachers were reorganizing curriculum contents by adding or deleting some topics and concepts with consideration of the students' achievement and interests. But they seldom reconstructed the objectives. Science teachers usually apply lecture and experiment as instructional method and multiple choice items and performance test as evaluation method. On the basis of these results, this study provided suggestions for further improvement of science curriculum implementation.
