본 논문은 짐멜의 <문화의 개념과 비극>(Der Begriff und die Tragödie der Kultur)을 중심으로 그의 사유에서 드러나는 모던적 면모와 포스트모던적 면모를 분석하는 것을 목표로 한다. 2장 1절에서는 모던적 주체의 성립과 특징을 분석할 것이며 2장 2절에서는 ‘문화의 비극’을 계기로 포착할 수 있는 포스트모던적 주체의 단초를 분석할 것이다. 논의 대상은 짐멜의 근대문화론이 잘 드러나는 에세이인 <문화의 개념과 비극>으로 한정한다. 방대한 양의 간학문적 연구를 수행한 그의 작업을 전부 검토할 수 없기 때문이며 이것이 본 논문의 한계임을 밝힌다. 마지막으로 그간 국내에서 잘 논의되지 않았던 짐멜의 사유를 논의 대상으로 삼음으로써 학문적 논의 가능성을 확대할 수 있음을 기대한다.
Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to examine the modern and postmodern in Georg Simmel’s Der Begriff und die Tragödie der Kultur. Chapter 2, Section 1, examines the establishment and characteristics of modern subjects. In Chapter 2 and Section 2, this paper will analyze the clues of the postmodern subject that can be captured in the wake of the 'cultural tragedy'. The subject of discussion is limited to Der Begriff und die Tragödie der Kultur, an essay that clearly shows simmel's modern culture theory. This is because it is impossible to review all of his work that has conducted a vast amount of interdisciplinary research, and this is the limitation of this paper. Finally, it is expected to expand the possibility of academic discussions.
