「화식열전」은『사기』가운데 매우 중요한 문장으로서, 오랫동안 학계의 주목을 받아왔다. 최근 이와 관련된 연구는 주로 문학, 사학, 경제학 등의 방면에 집중되었는데, 때로는 연구자들이 사회 문화의 관점에서 지역 문화와 민속의 관련성을 탐구하기도 했다. 본 논문은 기존 연구자들의 연구를 바탕으로, 민속에 대한 사마천의 폭넓은 식견, 선진적인 상업 민속관, 발전적인 지역 문화관 등을 심도있게 분석하였다. 그리하여 물질 생산과 다양하고 풍부한 민속 탐구를 통해, 지역과 물질 생산, 경제, 민속 사이의 유기적 관계를 밝혔으며, 당시 민속이 지리환경, 역사적 계승, 사회 경제와 정치 등 제반 요소가 밀접하게 연계되어 있음을 규명하였다. 따라서 본 논문은 사마천이 민속에 대한 물질 생산의 사회적 작용을 적극 수용함으로써, 「화식열전」이 중국민속학사 발전에 매우 중요한 매개체가 되었으며, 후세의 민속 서사에 새로운 패러다임을 제공했다는 점을 확인하였다.
Abstract
The "Biographies of Merchants and Traders" is an important chapter in the "Records of the Grand Historian" and has long been a subject of academic attention. In recent years, related research has mainly focused on literature, history, and economics. Some researchers have also explored the connection between regional culture and folk customs from a social and cultural perspective. Based on previous studies, this paper further analyzes Sima Qian's broad folk customs perspective, advanced commercial folk customs view, and developing regional culture view. By exploring the rich content of material production folk customs, it reveals the relationship between regions, products, economy, and folk customs, as well as the influence of geographical environment, historical inheritance, social economy, and politics on folk customs. Finally, it presents the innovation points of this paper: Sima Qian highly affirmed the role of material production folk customs in society, and the "Biographies of Merchants and Traders" has played a very important role in the development of Chinese folkloristics, providing a reference model for subsequent folk custom writings.
