Abstract

Performance metrics of logistics serve several important purposes. one needs to understand how well the system is performing, and how well it might perform under alternative policies. Moreover, one needs metrics to help one diagnose problems and improve service to the customer. Metrics also help us analyze policy alternatives by enabling us to quantify their performance characteristics. Performance metrics of logistics used in Services are fill rate, accommodation rate, and satisfaction rate, etc. They are inadequate because they do not include the more ultimate measure of supply system, weapon system availability. Fill rate can be high and weapon system availability rate low because the supply cycle time is long. In this study, we develop the performance metrics of logistics which are customer wait time(CWT), weapon system availability, total asset visibility for Korea military. They are metrics for customers of substantial combat capability.
