Abstract

This essay analyzes the formation and coordinate of the Military-First Era's economic strategy after nuclear test(2006.10), using the concept of ‘dualization strategy’. Above all, once we investigate the macro economic condition of North Korea before and after nuclear test, paradoxically, its situation was not largely changed, probably because it was already in fully serious situation. And it is necessary to examine closely the relation between North's nuclear and its economy. It seems not true that North Korea had issued, as it is called, ‘Nuclear Card’ to overcome the unprecedented total crisis which includes such as famine, energy shortage, and social disorder. Rather the nuclear development of North Korea had impacted on its economy and society destructively. That brings about the general failure of the state which have sought after ‘populism’ for a long time, and becomes a momentum which makes the state and society(or people) conflict with. Finally, marketization in North Korea today is the general trend which is never reversible, therefore North Korea should build a political structure correspondent to the marketization as a future economic order.
