경찰공무원의 가치체계가 조직몰입에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구

초록

이 연구는 개인의 가치체계에서 비롯되어 조직의 행태까지 연결되는 조직행태론이 경찰조직에서도 작용할 수 있다는 전제에서 출발하였다. 즉 경찰 개개인의 가치체계는 그들의 태도를 결정하고, 그들의 태도는 개인의 행태와 조직의 행태를 결정하는 요인으로서의 역할을 하고, 가치체계가 변할 수 있듯이 개인의 태도와 더불어 행태도 변할 가능성이 있으며, 나아가 경찰조직의 행태도 변할 수 있다는 것이다. 이 연구에서는 경찰공무원을 대상으로 개개인의 가치체계의 특징의 파악 및 계층 간의 공통적인 특성을 측정하고, 가치체계가 조직몰입에 미치는 영향을 규명하여 궁극적으로는 경찰공무원의 조직몰입도를 향상시키는 방안을 모색하는 근거자료로 삼고자 하였다. 이러한 연구목적을 달성하기 위하여 선행연구의 검토를 통하여 궁극적 가치 와 수단적 가치를 독립변수로 선정하였고, 조직몰입을 종속변수로 선정하고 하위변수로 감정적 몰입, 지속적 몰입, 규범적 몰입을 두었다. 조사대상은 전국의 경찰공무원으로 하였으며, 전국 16개 지방경찰청별로 각 50명씩 800명을 선정하여 가치체계와 조직몰입을 실증적으로 측정해보고, 가치체계가 조직몰입에 미치는 영향을 검증하였다

Abstract

Value has become an important topic in every social science disciplines including psychology, sociology, economics, and organization studies. This study explored the Police Officer's Value, and Organizational Commitment. The Police officers’ Value & Organizational Commitment has been measured, and then how Police officers’ Value affects Organizational Commitment has been examined. The study results may be used as a theoretical basis to assert the need of organizational system to improve the organizational effectiveness that is directly related to the public’s quality of life. The findings show significant relationships between Police officers’ Value and Organizational Commitment, and the two dimensions of Police officers’ Trust was correlated to Organizational Commitment. The methodology used in this study is based largely on the Rokeach's model. Independent variable comprises 2 categories; 'Terminal Value', 'Instrumental Value'. and Dependent variable is comprises 3 categories; 'Affective Commitment', 'Continuance Commitment', 'Normative Commitment'. 800 police officers from korea was selected as subjects and 689 police officers among them responded to the survey and used 558 police officers' response in actual analysis. Here, statistical techniques such as step wise multiple regression, crosstabs, anova and frequency are used in data-processing with SPSS for Windows 14.0.
