이 연구의 목적은 지역사회 경찰활동의 핵심요소들 중에서 어떤 요소가 경찰관 직무만족도에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 지를 살펴보고, 경찰관의 직무만족도를 향상시킬 수 있는 방안을 제안하는 것이다. 이 연구의 독립변수로는 요인분석의 결과, 사전예방순찰, 경찰-지역사회 친밀, 지역사회단체의 협조, 문제해결 경찰활동, 경찰-주민 협력, 경찰-주민 소통, 분권화 7개 변수가 선정되었고, 종속변수는 경찰관의 직무만족도이다. 회귀분석의 결과, 유의수준 0.05에서 종속변수인 경찰관의 직무만족도에 통계적으로 유의한 영향을 미치는 독립변수는 문제해결 경찰활동, 경찰-주민 소통, 분권화인 것으로 나타났다. 따라서, 이 연구의 결과로서 지역사회 경찰활동과 관련되어 경찰관 직무만족도를 증진시키기 위해서는, 지역사회의 각종 문제 및 무질서를 해결하기 위해 경찰과 지역사회가 협력해서 노력할 필요가 있고, 경찰관과 지역주민 간에 의사소통이 원활해질 수 있도록 해야 하며, 지구대장ㆍ파출소장 및 일선경찰관에게 더욱 실질적인 재량권을 부여할 필요가 있다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to analyze the influence of community policing to police officers' job satisfaction. By factor analysis, preventive patrol, police-community institutes collaboration, problem solving policing, police-citizen collaboration, police-citizen communication, decentralization are grouped as the dependent variables. And the independent variable is police officers' job satisfaction. The results of this study reveal that police officers' job satisfaction is affected by problem solving policing, police-citizen communication, decentralization positively. Therefore, police department must make the effort for activating problem solving policing, developing two way-communication between police and citizens, and decentralizing the police organization to enhance the police officers' job satisfaction.
