경찰청렴성 인식의 증진방안에 관한 연구 - 대전광역시를 중심으로

이 연구의 목적은 시민의 경찰청렴성 인식에의 영향요인들 중에서 어떤 요인들이 통계적으로 유의한 영향을 미치는지를 살펴보고, 시민의 경찰청렴성 인식의 증진방안들을 제안하는 것이다. 경찰관 개인의 높은 청렴성은 경찰조직 전체에 대한 신뢰성을 높이고, 경찰 이미지를 향상시켜서 조직 구성원들의 사기를 높이는데 기여한다. 이 연구를 수행하기 위해 대전시민대학에서 강좌를 수강하고 있는 수강생 201명을 대상으로 설문조사를 행하였고, 독립변수는 개인적 요인, 사회문화적 요인, 제도적 요인, 조직적 요인 4개 변수이고, 종속변수인 시민의 경찰청렴성 인식이다. 회귀분석 결과, 유의수준 .05에서 종속변수에 통계적으로 정(+)의 유의한 영향을 미치는 독립변수는 제도적 요인(β=.398), 개인적 요인(β=.300), 조직적 요인(β=.151), 사회문화적 요인(β=.144)의 순서인 것으로 나타났다. 따라서, 시민들로부터 신뢰 받는 경찰상을 정립하기 위해서는 제도적 요인, 개인적 요인, 조직적 요인, 사회문화적 요인 차원의 증진방안을 마련할 필요가 있다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to analyze the citizen’s perception of police integrity, and to suggest the methods for improving the police integrity. This study conducts the survey on 201 citizens at Daejeon Metropolitan City. High integrity of individual police officers improves the reliability of the entire police organization, improves the image of the police, and raises the morale of the organization. By factor analysis, individual factor, social and cultural factor, institutional factor, and organizational factor are grouped as the independent variables. And the dependent variable of this study is the citizen’s perception of police integrity. The results of this study demonstrate that the citizen’s perception of police integrity is affected statistically by individual factor, social and cultural factor, institutional factor, and organizational factor. To increase the citizen's perception of police integrity, police department must make the effort to enhance individual factor, social and cultural factor, institutional factor, and organizational factor.
