In the history of the Republic of Korea, there are many organizations that have played the role of the police, but the organization of the Chosun Dynasty, which has a lot of empirical data, is a representative organization.,This study was conducted under the judgment that it would be helpful to study the current police duties by examining how the police work was carried out in the past through the organization called the vineyard., ⁇ This study first analyzes the police officer system of the Joseon Dynasty and then examines how the vineyard is depicted through the Annals of the Joseon Dynasty, which compiles the history of the Joseon Dynasty with a new perspective. In addition, the data referenced in this study was analyzed and studied by searching for the Korean translation of 「Annals of the Joseon Dynasty」 provided by the National History Compilation Committee, and examined the role and function of Podocheong expressed in 「Annals of the Joseon Dynasty」.
