우리나라의 부정기 개별 선사들의 1992년과 2004년도 비용자료를 가지고 선비와 일반관리비의 DWT당 구조적 변화가 있는지 분산분석과 회귀분석을 통해 살펴보았다. 분산분석결과 1992년과 2004년도의 비용구조에는 큰 변화가 없는 것으로 나타났으나 DWT당 운임수입에는 유의한 변화가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 비용을 DWT의 종속변수로 하는 더미변수 모델을 설정하여 1) 양기간 동안 생존한 기업만을 대상, 2) 양기간의 모든 부정기선사로 구분하여 추정하였다.1)과 2)의 추정모델 모두에 이분산은 없는 것으로 나타났으며, 1)의 추정결과 DWT는 비용을 증가시키는 것으로 1% 수준에서 유의한 양의 부호를 보여주었고, 비용의 규모탄력성은 0.5로 나타났다. 또한 시기(Dt: 1992, 2004)는 유의하지 않으나 기업의 규모(Ds: 대형, 소형)는유의한 차이를 보이는 것으로 추정되었다. 한편 2)의 데이터를 이용한 결과도 1)의 추정결과와 큰 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났다.
Abstract
In this paper, cost and revenue structure of Korean tramp shipping companies between 1992 and 2004 were examined. Some interesting results were exploited as followed. Firstly, it is interesting to note that revenue earned per deadweight in trampshipping companies in 2004 is 5 times higher than that in 1992, even though average capacity owned by a company in 2004 is lower than that in 1992. Secondly, there were significant changes in revenue earned between large tramp shipping companies and small companies in 2004. However there was a significant difference in revenue earned for the small tramp shipping companies at 1% level between 1992 and 2004. In the estimation, as expected, the DWT has a positive effect on the shipping cost with 1% significance level at least. Particularly, the range of coefficients is around 0.5, implying the DWT elasticity with respect to the shipping cost is about 0.5.
