성폭력 가해 청소년의 가족체계 특징에 관한 사례연구

본 연구는 성폭력을 행한 청소년의 가족체계의 특징이 어떠한지를 탐색한 단일 상담사례 연구이다. 연구자는 연구참여자 가족에게서 발견되는 가족체계의 특징은 무엇인가, 연구참여자에게 발견된 성폭력을 행한 원인은 무엇인가, 연구참여자를 대상으로 한 가족상담의 과정과 효과는 무엇인가라는 연구문제를 설정하였다. 연구자는 12회기 동안 상담을 진행하였고, 가족상담 이론적 관점으로 연구참여자 가족을 평가하였으며, 청소년으로 하여금 성폭력 가해를 하게 한, 가족체계와 심층 원인을 관찰하였다. 본 연구를 통해, 연구자는 연구참여자 가족에게서 10가지의 특징적인 가족체계를 발견하였는데, 이는 언어-비언어 불일치, 부정적 감정을 회피, 트라우마 억압, 외출 통제, 삼각관계, 분리를 저해, 원가족 눈치를 살핌, 원가족의 강요를 자식에게 강요, 자녀보다 부모를 돌봄, 형제에 대한 차별 등이다. 이러한 체계를 3가지 상위개념, 즉 억압적인 의사소통, 원가족과의 미분화, 형제차별로 분류하였다. 또한, 연구자는 가족 내에서 경험한 트라우마, 비밀을 유지하게 한 억압적인 의사소통, 미분화된 가족체계를 연구참여자의 성폭력 가해의 심층적인 원인으로 보았다. 가족세우기, 가계도 작성, 탈삼각화와 같은 가족상담 기법의 체험과 공생관계 체험을 통하여, 연구참여자는 문제행동이 세대에 걸친 가족간의 상호작용 때문임을 통찰하였고 문제행동의 근본적인 해결과 변화를 경험할 수 있었다. 본 연구는 청소년의 성폭력 가해 원인이 청소년의 개인적이고 심리적인 원인뿐만 아니라 그들이 속한 가족의 역기능적인 가족체계에도 있음을 증명하였다는 데에 의의가 있다.
Abstract
Objectives: This case study explored the family system of a juvenile sex offender, the in-depth causes of his behavior, and the effects of family counseling. Method: Therapeutic procedures were analyzed in detail using Grounded Theory’s system of open coding. Results: Ten dysfunctional family-systems categories were identified, some of which were indicated as causes of the sex-offender’s behaviors, including family trauma, repressive communication, and undifferentiated family systems. Through family counseling, the participants’ interactions and the rigid family rules were changed, and detriangulation was promoted. Conclusion: Family counseling is needed for radical psychological change of juvenile sex offenders.
