성학대 피해 아동의 가족경험에 대한 질적 사례연구

본 연구의 목적은 성학대 피해 아동의 가족경험을 아동의 세부적인 경험세계의 조명을 위해 내부자적 관점에 근거하여 파악하는 것이다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위해 연구자들은 2012년 7월부터 2013년 6월까지 성학대 피해 아동 4명을 대상으로 심층면접 등을 통해 자료를 수집하였고 질적 사례연구 접근을 통해 분석하였다. 연구결과에서는 각 사례에 대한 기술과 사례들 간에 걸쳐서 공통적으로 나타난 주제를 찾아 기술하고 해석하였다. 분석결과 나타난 주제는 7개로 ‘울타리가 되어주지 못한 가족’, ‘새로운 돌파구 모색’, ‘나보다는 가족을 위한 선택’, ‘가족에게 희망을 걸어봄’, ‘가족의 긍정적 변화’, ‘외딴 섬 같은 존재’, ‘미래를 위한 선택의 갈림길에 서 있음’ 등으로 나타났다. 연구참여자들은 가족 간 의사소통이 단절되어 있었고 가족에게 의지할 수 없고 혼자 보내는 시간이 많았다. 가족 내에서 안정을 얻지 못해 외부에서 지지를 얻기도 하였다. 이전의 가족경험에서 기대되는 가족의 반응으로 성학대 사건을 가족에게 말하지 못하여 교사나 이웃을 통해 성학대 사건이 알려지게 되었다. 성학대 피해아동은 가족이 성학대 사건을 알게 된 이후에는 가족이 아동 편에서기를 바라고 있었다. 성학대 사건 이후 가족들이 변화하기도 하였지만 아동은 가족에게 돌아가지 못하고 가족과 교류가 멀어지기도 하였다. 성학대 피해 아동의 가족경험에 따라 가족에게 돌아갈지 외부에서 생활하게 될지를 결정하게 된다. 이러한 연구결과에 근거하여 성학대 피해 아동이 발생한 경우 피해 아동과 가족에 대해 필요한 개입을 제언하였다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to better understand the family experience of child victims of sexual abuse. To achieve this research aim, the current researchers collected data through in-depth interviews with 4 sexually abused children from July, 2012, to June, 2013. The analysis was based on a qualitative case study. The results produced the following insights or categorization of experiences and impacts; ‘The family does not fence’, ‘To seek a new breakthrough’, ‘Making a choice for the family rather than for me’, ‘Have hope within the family’, ‘A positive change in the family’, ‘Existence is like isolated islands’, ‘Making a choice for the future at a crossroads’. Based on this, we proposed a number of ideas in terms of intervention for sexually abused children and their families.
