Abstract
Purpose: In this study, the effect of group cohesion of a learning group on academic performance in a university's online real-time cooperative learning environment was investigated. And the mediating effect of group efficacy and the moderating effect of learning presence were confirmed. Method: An Exploratory factor analysis, hierarchical regression analysis, and mediated moderating effect analysis were performed to verify the hypothesis. Results: A significant positive effect of emotional cohesion on academic performance through group efficacy and the moderating role of learning presence were confirmed. Conclusion: The results of this study showed that the learning group that showed strong emotional cohesion in the online real-time cooperative learning environment showed high levels of group efficacy and academic performance. In addition, in the relationship between emotional cohesion and academic performance, a significant moderating effect of learning presence was confirmed.
