일제 강점기 논산 ‧ 강경의 지역 극장 연구 — 논산극장을 중심으로

Abstract

During the Japanese colonial rule, the establishment of the theater began to spread throughout Choseon. In large cities centering on the three major port cities on Choseon, there was a residential area where Japanese resided early, and the theaters for the Japanese began to enter the area. Such a theater boom became commonplace throughout Choseon in the 1920s through the 1910s. The Chungcheong area was not an exception, so early theaters were constructed in the 1900s(for example, in the province of Kongju) and the construction of theaters in each area was made visible in the 1920s and 1930s at the latest. This study was conducted to track the theater status in Ganggyeong and Nonsan in Chungcheong province and to discuss the operation of the theaters. The purpose of this study was to elucidate the origins and history of theaters on Nonsan and Ganggyeong, which were vaguely acknowledged. Based on various data, this study sought to discuss the construction, the era of erection, the characteristics and operation, and meaning and value of Nonsangeukjang.
