해외 한국어 학습자 대상 한국어 통번역 교육과정 개발 기초연구 -베트남과 미얀마를 중심으로-

본 연구는 동남아시아 한국어 학습자들을 위한 한국어 통번역 교육과정 개발을 위한 기초연구로서 베트남 학습자 68명, 미얀마 학습자 123명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하고 베트남 호치민과 하노이의 세종학당 교원과 관계자들을 대상으로 인터뷰 조사를 실시하여 교육적 함의를 도출하였다. 연구 결과로서 첫 번째로 동남아시아에서는 한국어 통번역 교육과정의 수요와 요구가 매우 높다는 것을 확인하였다. 응답자의 상당수가 구체적인 목적을 바탕으로 통번역 과정의 필요성을 인식하고 있었다. 또한 통번역 과정을 개설할 경우 수강 희망 이유로는 한국어 실력 향상의 이유와 개인적인 통번역 업무를 하고 싶어서라는 이유가 많았다. 학습 희망 분야로는 비즈니스와 문화콘텐츠 번역이 가장 많았고 행사 통번역과 관광 통번역 등이 뒤를 이었다. 또한 과정을 담당할 교수자의 역량과 자질로서는 통번역의 실무 경험과 교육 경험을 가장 중요하게 생각하고 있었다. 운영상의 문제로는 교재의 부족과 교원 확보의 어려움을 들었다. 연구 결과를 통해 한국어 통번역 교육을 위한 기본 교육과정의 개발이 필요하다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 그리고 통번역 능력의 향상을 위해 언어 지식, 관련 배경지식, 통번역 전략 등이 교육의 내용이 되어야 하고 주제 분야는 비즈니스, 문화콘텐츠, 행사, 관광, 의료, 사법 등이 적절한 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 교원의 확보를 위한 인력풀 조성과 재교육과 양성 프로그램 개발이 필요한 것을 알 수 있었다.
Abstract
This study is a basic study for the development of a Korean translation curriculum for South-East Asian Korean learners, and based on the research results, implications for the development of the curriculum were presented. A survey was conducted on 68 Vietnamese learners and 123 Myanmar learners, and interviews were conducted with teachers and officials at Sejong Institute in Ho Chi Minh and Hanoi, Vietnam. First, it was confirmed that the demand for the Korean translation curriculum were very high. Many of the respondents recognized the need for an interpretation process based on specific purposes. As a result of the survey, there were many reasons why they wanted to take the interpretation course because they wanted to improve their Korean language skills and work on personal interpretation. Business and cultural content translation was the most common areas desired to take, followed by event interpretation and tourism interpretation. In addition, as for the competence and quality of the instructor, the practical experience and educational experience of interpretation were considered the most important in that interpretation is a functional area. Operational problems cited a lack of textbooks and difficulties in securing teachers. It is necessary to develop a basic curriculum for Korean translation education. In order to improve interpretation ability, language knowledge, related background knowledge, and translation strategies should be the content of education, and business, cultural contents, events, tourism, medical care, and justice are appropriate in the subject areas. Finally, it was found that it was necessary to create a pool of manpower and to develop retraining and training programs to secure teachers.
