본 연구는 4차 산업혁명기술의 고용 및 임금효과를 추정하였으며, 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 2023년 기준 4차 산업혁명기술의 활용 비중은 중소기업(16.6%), 중견기업(22.8%), 대기업(34.8%) 순으로 나타나 기업규모가 클수록 높았다. 둘째, 4차 산업혁명기술의 활용 유형은 클라우드(25.0%), 빅데이터(18.3%), 인공지능(16.7%) 순으로 높았으며, 활용 분야는 제품개발(45.9%)과 생산공정(17.6%)에 많이 활용되었다. 셋째, 패널회귀분석을 통해 4차 산업혁명기술의 고용효과를 추정한 결과, 5개 모형(전체, 대기업/중소기업, 인공지능/로봇공학/클라우드) 모두에서 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타나 4차 산업혁명기술을 활용하는 기업의 고용창출 효과가 높았다. 다만, 로봇공학은 통계적으로 유의하지 않았다. 넷째, 4차 산업혁명기술의 임금효과를 추정한 결과, 기업규모(대기업/중소기업)와기술유형(인공지능/로봇공학/클라우드)에 관계없이 4차 산업혁명기술을 활용하는 기업의 임금효과가 전반적으로 높았다. 다섯째, 구조방정식인 잠재성장모형(LGM)을 활용하여 4차 산업혁명기술의 단·장기효과를 추정한 결과, 초기값(Intercept)과 변화율(Slope) 모두 유의한 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타나 초기뿐만 아니라 장기적으로도 고용 및 임금에 긍정적인 영향을 미쳤다. 이러한 분석결과는 양질의 일자리 창출과 중소기업의 임금수준을 높이기 위해서는 4차 산업혁명기술을 적극적으로 활용하고 기술혁신에 대한 투자를 강화할 필요가 있음을 시사한다.
Abstract
This study estimated the employment and wage effects of the 4th industrial revolution technology, and the results are as follows. First, the results of estimating the employment effects of the 4th industrial revolution technology through panel regression analysis showed that all five models (overall, large/small and medium-sized enterprises, cloud/artificial intelligence) had a significant positive effect, indicating that companies utilizing the 4th industrial revolution technology had a high job creation effect. Second, as a result of estimating the wage effect of the 4th industrial revolution technology, the wage effect of companies utilizing the 4th industrial revolution technology was significantly higher, regardless of the company size (large company/small and medium-sized company) and technology type (cloud/artificial intelligence). Third, the results of estimating the short-term and long-term effects of the 4th industrial revolution technology using the latent growth model (LGM), a structural equation model, showed that both the initial value (Intercept) and the change rate (Slope) had significant positive effects, indicating a positive effect on employment and wages not only in the initial period but also in the long term. These analysis results suggest that in order to create quality jobs and raise wages for small and medium-sized enterprises, it is necessary to actively introduce 4th industrial revolution technologies and strengthen investment in technological innovation.
