Abstract
The problem of sexuality has significant meanings in social level as well as in individual level. In individual level, it is related with the realization of the greatest desire human being have, sexual desire. In social level, it has the meaning of social maintenance and labor reproduction through the childbirth. In Korea, where sexual desire had been denied and neglected in strong confucian tradition, the concern about it increased around 1990 as Korea reached to a consuming society. School couldn't avoid this issue as the social interest increased. It is both social and adolescents' demand to take it into schooling. This article examined the problem of sexuality education in a tentative style in educational sector. This study examined, firstly how it was treated in schooling, especially in the 7th school curriculum and Moral Subject, secondly critically analysed the premises of Moral Subject on it, thirdly considered educational necessary efforts for desirable sexuality education. The results of this study are as follows; The premise of Moral Subject was based on Cartesian dualism, so that the value of sexuality was denied or neglected. Recently many studies were being carried to criticize the Cartesian dualism, and those argued that human reason was based on body. Those results showed the possibility of unity of body and mind, and that means we should think of human being as united being of both. Besides, Moral Subject supported the equality of both sexes formally, but premised discrimination of them actually. This is not suitable to the spirit of the times which is to realize the society of the equality of both sexes. It is not persuasive to demand to subdue our sexual desire in society where it is regarded as important to realize the desire of body. Desire itself is not problematic, and it is more important task to deliberate the meaning of the realization of the desire in our lives, and to utilize it desirably for our lives. Out of denying it, We should start in schooling from the acknowledgement of desire of body.
