초록

본 연구는 중소분쟁시기 북방삼각관계가 1961년 7월 「조소 · 조중우호협조 및 상호원조 조약」의 체결에미친 영향을 역사적으로 고찰하려는 목적을 지닌다. 구체적으로 북한이 어떻게당시 서로 갈등관계에 있었던 두 사회주의 거대 국가인 소련 · 중국과 동맹을 맺을 수 있었는지 그 원인과 과정, 그리고조약에 대한 북방삼국의 평가를 집중적으로 논의한다. 북한 체제의 존립과 발전에 있어서 중 · 소의 후견적 역할은 결코간과될 수 없음에도 불구하고, 그 동안동맹체결에 관한 논의는 자료의 부족으로 인해 단순 주어진 것으로 이해되는경향이 있었다. 새롭게 공개된 일부 구사회주의권 외교문서와 북한 1차 문헌에기초하여 논문은 크게 세 부분을 살펴보았다. 첫째, 국제공산주의운동의 분열이가속화되고 있는 상황에서 북한이 중단되었던 동맹체결 논의를 재개할 수 있었던 대내외적 배경을 기술하였다. 둘째,1961년 7월 6일과 11일, 「조소 · 조중 우호협조 및 상호원조 조약」의 체결 과정을 구체적으로 논의하였다. 마지막으로동맹체결의 당사자인 북한 · 중국 · 소련이 조약 체결 후 각자 어떠한 시각으로조약의 의미를 받아들이고 있었는지를연구의 말미에 설명하였다.

Abstract

This research aims to study how DPRK-PRC-USSR relations impact on DPRK-USSR and DRPK-PRC Friendly Cooperation and Mutual Assistance Treaty respectively during the Sino-Soviet split. The study looked into how and why DPRK could conclude the treaties with PRC and USSR while they are in conflict, and the way that DPRK, PRC, and USSR evaluated the treaties after conclusions. In terms of the existence and development of North Korean regime, Chinese and Soviet roles cannot be overlooked, but it has been understood that these treaties were simply given. Therefore, the study examined three main parts based on the primary literatures of North Korea and the newly released diplomatic archives from the former communist regimes around the Soviet Union. First, internal and external causes resuming discussions on treaties of alliances while a division of the International Communist Movement was being accelerated would be explained. Second, the process of concluding treaties would be discussed in detail. Third, the way how North Korea, China, and the Soviet Union accepted the meaning of treaties would be described.
