본 연구는 국어교육이 미래 사회가 요구하는 국어 능력을 기반으로 하여 각 영역이 융합된 모습을 갖추어야 한다는 전제 하에 다가오는 미래 사회에 대한 통찰을 통해 사회에서 요구되는 핵심 능력을 밝히고 이를 중심으로 국어교육의 나아갈 방향을 가늠해 보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 먼저 현재 국어과 교육에서 지향하는 목표를 분석하여 문제점을 살펴보았다. 그리고 다가오는 미래 사회를 지식 기반 사회로 규정하고 지식의 특성과 관련지어, 지식을 공유하는 의사소통 능력, 새로운 지식을 지속적으로 습득할 수 있는 지식 습득 능력, 그리고 새로운 지식의 생산과 관련되는 창의적 사고 능력의 측면에서 미래 사회에서 요구되는 핵심 능력의 모습을 가늠해 보았다. 마지막으로 국어과 교육의 목표를 능력 중심으로 접근할 때 갖게 되는 이점들과 이를 위해 국어 교육에서 극복해야 할 과제들에 대해 제언을 하였다. 다가오는 미래 사회에 부응하는 국어교육이 되기 위해서는 새롭게 변화되는 사회를 여러 측면에서 면밀히 예측하는 것이 필요하다. 그리고 이를 바탕으로 사회에서 요구되는 능력을 학생들이 갖추는 것을 국어교육의 목표로 삼아야 한다. 본고에서 제안한 지식 기반 사회의 측면에서 바라본 국어 교육의 핵심 능력은 그러한 접근의 일환으로 하나의 기초 연구를 이룬다.
Abstract
This article intended to uncover key competencies what society needs and to find a way which Korean education advance on the assumption that Korean education’s sub-domains should be amalgamated based on key competencies which is demanded in future society. First of all, we examined the current curriculum of Korean education and found some problems. And we defined the approaching society as Knowledge-based society. We sketched key competencies under the influence of future society from three different angle associated the knowledge characteristic-the communication ability to share knowledge, the acquiring knowledge ability to learn new knowledge, and the creative thinking ability to make new knowledge. Finally, we proposed several advantages when we approach Korean educational objectives in with key competencies as the center and several matters to overcome for this. To Korean education meet the demands of approaching future society, we should predict this changing world from various perspective. And Korean education objectives must be base on key competencies which is needed in the society. Key competencies of Korean education from the perspective of Knowledge-based society which are suggested in this paper forms a part in such approach-as an foundation study.
