화랑오계와 법계명성의 계율사상

이글은원광법사의화랑오계를설하였던정신과그정신을계승하고발전시켜젊은이들의새로운정신을선도한법계명성의계율사상을살피고이들을통해서미래의정신문명을이끌윤리도덕관을도출하여보았다. 원광법사가운문사에머물며당시정세를정확하게짚어내고젊은화랑에게불교의계율에입각하되신라의현실에맞게세속적선계(善戒)를제시한것이화랑오계라고보았다. 또운문사에50여년을주석하며비구니이부승(二部僧)수계의중심역할과남방비구니승가복원을위한명성의행적등을살폈다. 명성의계율사상은소극적인지지계(止持戒)의차원에서더나아가현실에서실천하는 적극적인작지계(作持戒)를강조하였음을살폈다.그실천적면모를모든일에진실할것과진실을바탕으로말한것은반드시실행하는즉사이진(卽事而眞)의여설수행(如說修行)으로제시하였다. 끝으로원광법사의화랑오계와정신을계승발전시킨명성의온고지신(溫故知新)의정신을다시지신(知新)하여보았다.이를즉사이진을바탕으로한생명존중의윤리도덕관과 에코다르마로접근하였으며이를통해명성이늘강조하는물물각득기소(物物各得其所)의 ‘~다운’,혹은‘~답게’라는‘다운정신문화’로제시하였다.
Abstract
This study examined the Buddhist Priest Wongwang’s spirit to preach Hwarang Ogye and the precept ideas of Beopgye Myeongseong who led young people toward a new spirit by inheriting and developing Wongwang's spirit,thus identifying ethical and moral views to lead the spiritual civilization of the future based on them. The Buddhist Priest Wongwang accurately pointed out the situations of his times while staying at the Woonmun Buddhist Temple,where he also provided young Hwarangs with his great cautions that were secular,based on the precepts of Buddhism,and fit for the reality of Silla.They are called Hwarang Ogye. The study also examined the achievements of Myeongseong who worked to restore the central roles of the Buddhist nun Ibuseong Sugye and the community of southern Buddhist nuns during his settlement in the Woonmun Buddhist Temple for50years. Myeongseong’s precept ideas moved further from the passive Jijigye level and emphasized active Jakjigye for their practice in reality.He presented this practical aspect through the Yeoseolsuhaeng of Jeuksaijin which asked people to be true about everything and implement what was said based on truth without fail. Finally,the study examined again Myeongseong’s spirit of reviewing the past and learning the new as he inherited and developed the Buddhist Priest Wongwang’s Hwarang Ogye and spirit.The study approached it based on the ethical and moral view to respect life and Ecodharma based on Jeuksaijin, thus introducing the“Dawoon spiritual culture” based on “~Dawoon” or “~Dapgye”of Mulmulgakdeukgiso that Myeongseong always emphasized.
