교육 장면이나 기업에서 창의성 개발에 대한 관심은 그 어느 때보다 높다. 본 논문에서는 창의성 개발 연구의 기저에는 창의성이 개인차를 드러내는 측정 가능한 구인이라는 가정과 창의성이 훈련에 의해 개발될 수 있는 하나의 인지적 기술이라는 가정이 있다고 보았다. 이 두 가정의 출처를 추적하고, 이 가정들의 타당성과 한계를 창의성 검사와 개발 프로그램을 통해 살펴보았다. 이 두 가정은 작업 가설일 뿐 아직 경험적 증거가 미약하다는 점과 논의되었고, 경험적 근거 위에 창의성 개념을 정립하기 위한 앞으로의 연구 방향을 제안하였다.주제어 창의성, 개인차 연구, 지능, 인지적 기술, 확산적 사고력
Abstract
The interest in enhancing creativity in the areas of education and business is at on all time high. It was claimed that there are two underlying assumptions behind the research in enhancing creativity: One is that creativity is a construct revealing individual differences, and the other is that creativity is a cognitive skill. After the origins of these assumptions were examined, their validity was discussed. It was argued that there is no strong empirical evidence to support these assumptions, although they are still viable working hypotheses. A brief discussion on the future direction was followed to identify creativity as a cognitive skill revealing individual differences.key words creativity, individual differences, intelligence quotient, a cognitive skill, divergent thinking
