대학의 인력양성 및 연구개발이 지역발전에 미치는 영향: 과학기술분야를 중심으로

이 연구는 대학의 핵심 기능인 인력양성 기능(취업)과 연구개발 기능에 초점을 맞춰 지역내 대학들을 유형화 하여 대학과 지역발전과 관계를 분석 한다. 이를 위해 대학의 인력양성(취업) 및 연구개발 변수를 이용하여 16개 광역자치단체를 대상으로 유형화하여, 대학의 상대적 주 기능에 따라 다양해지는 지역발전과의 관계성을 분석하였다. 분석결과 대학에서 배출한 인력이 지역내에 많이 남아 있을수록, 지역내 연구개발수행이 대학주도가 아닌 대학을 비롯한 다양한 주체에 의해 수행될 때, 보다 향상된 지역발전을 가져올 수 있다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 이러한 분석결과를 바탕으로 본 연구가 갖는 의의를 제시한다.
Abstract
The authors tried to analyze the relationships between universities and regional development. A focus was placed on university research, as well as the portion of university graduates who were employed in the region. Having classified 16 regional provinces by research and employment, three groups of regions were used for the analysis. Major findings were that the greater retention rates in the region and the more diverse sectors for research, the more improvement in regional development. Based upon these findings, the authors suggests theoretical and polilcy implications.
