역대 대통령 연설문의 유형과 특징에 대한 비교연구 - 연설문의 유형, 분야, 주제, 시점을 중심으로 -

본 연구에서는 역대 대통령들의 연설문이 어떤 유형(type)으로, 어떤 분야(where) 에서, 어떤 주제(what)를 중심으로, 그리고 어느 시점(time)에 활발하게 생성되어 왔는지를 분석하였다. 분석결과를 요약하면 첫째, 연설문의 유형별로는 전두환 대통령과 김영삼 대통령, 그리고 노무현 대통령은 치사 유형의 연설문이 가장 많이 생성되었으며, 노태우 대통령은 성명/담화문, 김대중 대통령은 기념사 유형의 연설문이 가장 많이 생성된 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 연설문이 주로 생성되는 정책분야로는 외교통상 분야를 중심으로, 산업경제, 정치사회, 행정 분야에서 연설문이 활발하게 생성된 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 주제별로는 일상적이고 반복적인 주제의 대통령 연설이생성되기도 하며, 대통령별로 특정사건이나 국가의 중대사와 관련하여 연설을 해야하는 경우가 발생되는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 연설문이 활발하게 생성된 시점으로는 집권 초반이나 후반보다는 주로 집권 중반에 대통령 연설이 집중되는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 3,500여개의 역대 대통령 연설문을 통계적인 방법론 보다 내용분석을 통한 좀 더 사실적이고 현실적으로 다가올 수 있는 서술적 방식을 바탕으로 역대 대통령 연설문의 유형과 경향, 그리고 특징을 체계적으로 분석하였다는 점에서의미를 찾을 수 있다.
Abstract
This study attempts to examine type and characteristics-related Presidential Speeches. Particularly, this study surveys characteristics-related type and subject of Presidential Speeches, as well as field and timing of occurrence. There are several findings in this study. First, the type of speech in President Chun Doo-Hwan and Kim Young Sam, and Roh Moo-hyun was the most created the praise speech of type while President Roh Tae-Woo and President Kim Dae Jung showed that the most produced commemorative speech of type. Second, the policy area of presidential speeches are mainly produced by diplomacy & trade sector and the industrial economy, political society, administrative sector. Thirdly, the subject of presidential speeches are mainly created speeches with regard to a particular case or the fate of the country. Fourth, the timing of Presidential Speeches to be mainly focused on the early and mid-ruling rather than later. This study indicates that more sophisticated analyses of type and characteristics-related Presidential Speeches need to be pursued beyond simple identification of problems and solutions.
