그동안의 리더십 이론에서도 지도자의 감성 능력 부분에 대해 적지 않은 내용을 다루어 왔지만, 지도자의 이성적 판단과 지도력의 중요성에 우선적 관심을 둠으로서 감성 영역은 대체로 큰 관심을 끌지 못했었다. 이 논문에서는 기존의 리더십 관련 이론들 속에서 감성 부분이 어떻게 다루어지고 있는가를 부각시키고, 아울러 감성적 리더십을 주장하는 학자들의 견해를 더욱 철저하게 살펴보았다.감성적 지성의 지도력이 구체적으로 어떤 것이라고 정의내리기가 곤란한 상황에서 이를 실증적으로 살펴보기 위해 매경에서 선정한 2006년도 CEO 100명을 대상으로 감성적 리더십 부분에 대해 분석하였다. 분석 결과를 보면 이들의 자기 감성 관리에 있어서 혁신과 변화, 새로운 창조에 대한 감성이 가장 두드러지게 나타나고 있다. 아울러 도전과 과감한 추진력,최고 의식, 일등 의식이 남달랐다. 조직인과 관련해서는‘사람의 중요성’조직원들과의 인화, 단결, 화합에 대한 감성이 높게 나타났다.분석에 포함된 대상자들이 모두 일반 기업체와 금융 부문의 CEO 들이란 점에서 정부 부문과 다를 수 있다. 그렇지만 현대 정부가 고객 지향적, 민주 참여적 행정을 추구하고 있다는 점에서 매우 많은 부분에서 공통 부분이 있을 수 있다. 특히 최고를 추구하는 정부 관료 지도자라면 비슷한 행태를 보일 것이기 때문이다.
Abstract
There are so many articles and researches for leaders and leaderships. But most of articles are concentrated on the rational side of leadership instead of emotional side. In this article the author emphasized the emotional side of leadership. The author insisted a good leader should be a balanced person between the reason and the emotion. The author analysed 100 CEOs whom chosen by Maeil Economy Magazine. They emphasized some values like these: innovation, change, new creation, challenge, strong driving force, 'firstism', human etc.. It will be little bit different from public servants. But we can get some impressions about the leader and the leadership of public servants.
