Abstract
This study aimed to examine the moderating effects of infection control monitoring as a factor that can buffer the effect of infection education on infection control practice. To this end, I divided infection education into in-house education and external parallel education, and setup a research model to verify the moderating effect of infection control monitoring in the relationship with infection control practice. According to the results of the survey of 524 long-term care facilities in Goyang City, ① Infection control practice showed an increase according to the number of infection education and the intensity of infection control monitoring. ② The effect of infection education on infection control practice was different according to the types. In case of in-house education only, the increase in the number of education did not have any effect on the improvement of infection control practice, but external parallel education had a positive effect on the improvement of infection control practice. ③ It was found that infection control monitoring had a moderating effect on the positive effect of infection education on infection control practice, but there was a difference in the moderating effect by infection education types. Based on these results, this study discussed the direction and future tasks for improving the practice of infection control.
