지속가능발전목표(SDGs) 실행을 위한 짚풀공예의 교육적 활용방안 연구

Abstract

In our rapidly changing modern society, various alternatives for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are emerging. This study explores the potential for diagnosing, developing, and sustaining sustainability across diverse fields in a balanced manner. Even in the realms of culture, arts, and education, we are reevaluating how to effectively harness their potential for SDG implementation. Traditional crafts offer an enduring pathway to maintaining eco-friendly practices over time, using materials that harmonize with ecological conditions. These crafts possess regenerative qualities that enable them to return to nature, rendering them inherently sustainable. Straw, as an eco-friendly material readily available in nature, has long served as a staple material in traditional crafts. Its malleability allows for a wide range of craft creations, and its design flexibility enables easy adaptation to various purposes. Given these attributes, we conducted a comprehensive study on straw, delving into its unique properties and adaptability. Consequently, it emerges as a natural material primed for integration into various educational contexts. This study aims to recognize the educational significance and value of straw craft in advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Additionally, we propose a concrete plan for utilizing and applying straw craft in museum education through a specific teaching and learning process. The research methodology for this teaching and learning process plan was developed based on the content outlined by the Korean National Commission for UNESCO in 2021, the United Nations in 2019, and the 17 topics and learning objectives of sustainable development education articulated by the Korean National Commission for UNESCO. Our discussion will encompass the diverse applications of straw crafts in museum education, as well as an assessment of their necessity in advancing these educational goals.
